A key principle of successful mainstreaming is increasing the ways in which different actors CONNECT to other forums or platforms that help bring people together, to legislative review processes, and with partner organisations committed to mainstreaming biodiversity:

Forestry South Africa: Forestry SA is the representative body for all scales of forestry in South Africa. A well-established institution, it provides policies, research and representation for timber producers. It represents the interests of approximately 1 300 commercial timber operations and 20 000 small growers. Together its members control over 90% of the plantation area of the country. The SANBI Grasslands Programme’s forestry co-ordinator was positioned within Forestry SA for the duration of the programme.
