THEME: Community conservation: enabling the biodiversity economy and key insights from the Land Reform and

Biodiversity Stewardship Initiative (LRBSI) Strategic Review

Biodiversity stewardship is more than a protected area expansion tool, it has the potential to support a number of environmental and development outcomes. Most importantly, the environmental sector is seeking ways to ensure that the many benefits of biodiversity are safeguarded and sustainably utilised. This session will focus on how biodiversity stewardship can enable the biodiversity economy and rural development, share the key insights from our work with communities to inform the work of the LRBSI going forward, and highlight the work being done to unlock finances for biodiversity stewardship work with communities.
